Why 2026 became Q2 2027
The August 2026 letter was unusually blunt about the reason: instead of launching into the autumn of 2026, CIG chose a 2027 window rather than share attention with Rockstar's own Q4 release. Roberts had signalled the same tension back in May, telling Variety the plan was for late 2026 but that "a certain thing in the industry" demanded care. The real lesson for anyone tracking this game: the date has always moved in CIG's own words, never by leak - watch the letters, not the rumours.
What Q2 2027 means, precisely
- It is a three-month window, not a day. The Steam listing shows the quarter; no specific date has been published.
